JMS offers Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE programmes to its learners. This is in order for them to have a continuity in their learning in terms of content, skills, and form of assessment.  Providing a seamless Cambridge education system prepares them more to be ready in their university education.

Providing a  balanced education is very crucial in any learning institution. Learners must acquire the salient skills needed to help them cope with their school life without compromising their social life.  In JMS, starting Year 9, the learners  are given the choice to decide the subjects they want to take for two (2) years. Cambridge education system offers a wide range of subjects which learners can choose from. Giving this opportunity to decide for themselves gives them a sense of  responsibility in their learning. This exercise prepares them to plan for their university and to take responsibility for their future.

Learners are assisted and advised in choosing their subjects. Pros and cons are presented to help them in making decisions. Teachers explain the syllabus and what is expected from the subjects which they plan to take. This is to make sure that students have a clear understanding of each subject they intend to study and also to enable them to manage their expectations. 

In order for JMS learners to have a balanced school life, different co-curricular activities are organised to complement their learnings. Sporting events are organized regularly to provide a different  venue for them to compete and cooperate.  Performing arts such as musical plays, concerts,  and band performances are staged; there are also visual art exhibits every year for learners to express their artistic side.

All these co-curricular activities are student-led events. They are tasked to organise these with the supervision of a teacher-adviser. This again, is a learning opportunity outside their classroom. They  learn to prepare budgets, manage time by preparing rehearsal schedules, writing proposals, designing posters and pitching their ideas to the academic leaders. Moreover, their leadership  and negotiation skills  are honed.
